In this work, Zhao Chengxiang plays with the sense of illusion more obviously. Note that the right side of the painting is sandwiched between a screen and a door, which appears to be an "interior" space in the lower middle section, but the upper half is more like a flat painting on the wall, which intrigues the viewer's eyes to keep wandering. The slight tilt of the two chairs in the foreground also seems to suggest that this is an imaginary dream space. There is a lot of fun to see Zhao’s work.
