Han Tiger
This work uses the silhouette of the Han tiger found in the Dunhuang murals as the protagonist. The narratives in the background are based on the imagination around the Han tiger, creating a dreamy and romantic atmosphere.
The lilies in the painting symbolize a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, they also evoke fantasies that transcend space and time. This work is the fusion of ink and colour: the light and dark ink create a sense of layering on the uneven rock wall, and the colours of the fantasy part help break through the space of the rock wall, as if it is opening up to another universe.
Through his works, Liu showcase his ideals of modern art, infusing new concepts to Chinese traditions to create a large number of elegant, romantic and modern ink paintings, which are loved by the world.
